PawPack is one of those subscription boxes that simply has it all. Each month, your pup will get a box filled with all kinds of goodies including the healthiest all-natural treats and chews made with real meat and wholesome ingredients (and from small businesses!) Not only are the edible treats nutritional for your four-legged friend, but the company strives to choose all items that are organic and eco-friendly to give back to not only your pet, but also the environment. Now that’s a mission we can get behind!
I have been using BarkBox for over a year now. And even as I write this and was speaking aloud my dog sat straight up and looked at me when he heard the words BarkBox! It has become a phrase in my house to get the pups to come or do as I say by simply saying those two wonderful words BARKBOX! I have two dachshunds that absolutely love their toys every month, and have even learned when each month to start expecting them and literally watching out the window! But my babies aren't the only ones in love with this company... Over the past year I have found the BarkBox employees to be by far the most kind caring and helpful of any company I have ever dealt with. I have never done one of these reviews before but I created an account for just this company. Greatness like this should be acknowledged!
Earlier this year, Bark & Co (the company behind BarkBox and BarkShop started using Zendesk Message to manage their conversations from Facebook Messenger. BarkBox’s average response times decreased dramatically—from 60 minutes to 4 minutes—even as the number of conversations doubled. Today, the company is extending their support offering to Twitter Direct Messages to reach an even bigger audience with a unique and compelling experience.
Pamper your pooch monthly with a box for dogs full of fun toys, healthy Made in the USA treats, and other exciting goodies. They ship full size toys and treats bags to give you the most value for your money. With prices ranging from $20 for 2 to 3 items to $50 for 6 items there is a box to fit every budget. They ship loads of samples in every box as well so you get more than your monies worth and shipping is included in every package price.
Barkbox isn’t the be-all, end-all for solving boredom or behavior problems that stem from lack of stimulation. As most dog owners know, dogs want your attention and interaction more than anything else. But when you can’t spend time with him, new toys and treats are a great alternative. Dogs are almost always interested in anything new, according to results from a study published in the journal Animal Cognition.
The box is extra fun because it has a new surprise theme to keep things fresh each month. If they can’t find something your dog will love that fits the theme, they make it themselves! One of the coolest things is that they have an online store – called BarkShop – where you can order more of what your dog loved in their box. (their product descriptions are hilarious by the way and will keep you entertained for hours).
Claire dislikes: So Ruggie loves the Hippo, Trek Treats and the Banana Safari Snacks but tbh, I didn't even give her the lion toy because even though she would love it, toys with that kind of long hairy stuff make her gag. And maybe I'm being paranoid (new dog mom over here!), but that butcher's bone seemed kinda gross. I mean, it had a "no carpet" warning on it because it would leave stains, and if I can't have something on a carpet, why would I want the bone gunk all over her fur, which then would get all over her bed? Idk, maybe I'll give it to her as a puppy kindergarten graduation present and have her eat it in the kitchen.
"A BOX FOR RUFF AND TUFF MUTTS..and their owners! A box of durable chews and toys and high quality treats for Bully Breeds, Heavy Chewers, and your favorite Blockhead Dog. Also, packed with T-shirts, hats and other gear for dog-loving owners. A portion of all proceeds go to charities, rescues and humane law enforcement to combat animal cruelty and dog fighting. One, three, six and twelve month payment options to choose from."
This is where BarkBox blew me away with their customer service and their attention to detail regarding my specific needs. Within 30 minutes I got a response noting my concerns. One of there team members mailed out a new bag of treats for my dog to try free of charge! We also discussed that maybe my dog wasn’t a big chewer however cotton stuffed toys weren’t great either. She suggested I get a box with "durable fabric" toys instead. She also mailed out a sample toy for my dog to try. Free of charge. He loved it! They lowered my monthly subscription right away. They even followed up to make sure my dog was loving his new box and if I needed to tweak it any further.
For prices starting at $15 a month, your dog will receive daily meal packs made entirely of human-grade ingredients to meet your pup’s personal needs. Designed by veterinarians, these meals provide the perfect nutritional diet for your furry friend as opposed to dried dog food with less-than-ideal add-ins. And aside from the health benefits, these meal packs are so tasty, even humans might want a bite.
I love barkbox ! We switch [sic] from petbox to here because we heard they offered much more variety ! Which they definitely did ! Amazing way of trying new products out for your pup big or small . It’s like Christmas every month for my Lhasa apso when the mailman delivers his barkbox ! Again worth it for the money! — Maddie R., Influenster.com, 6/17/2015
After my comparison posts, I get a lot of people asking which subscription box is our favorite. After my last comparison post, I promised to reveal our top 3 subscription boxes. I’m going to cheat a little though. I am not ranking them in order because they are all great in their own ways. No matter which one of our tip 3 boxes you pick, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Thanks so much for your kind words Carrie and Angel! We are so very lucky to have you guys in the pack and to be able to spoil Angel! Tell Angel if she wants more monthly chews in her boxes we are now able to customize our boxes to get more of some items and less of another. You can email us directly at Lindz@barkbox.com if that sounds like something she would love to do! Give her all of the love and pets from us here! Then if you need anything at all going forward please don't hesitate to let us know.
I ordered BarkBox because l saw the commercial and thought it'd be great for my dog. When l placed my first order, l was told l would receive the package between July 18-July 22. The package didn't come so l contacted them Sunday night. I was then told by email because when you call the number, the representatives are always away, that they were sorry and l would receive the package no later than Tuesday, July 24.
Thinking that maybe I needed to communicate dog to dog, I had my 4 Goldens and 1 Pyr (all rescues) send a personal plea to please get the box right, because their mom was threatening to cancel their subscription and buy their toys in other places. Again, received a cute email response (not nearly as cute as the email my 5 sent) basically saying we were wrong (really? It takes a month to ship something in the United States? And I have a transcript of the previous chat that specified what my BarkBox was supposed to contain, which it did not?!?)...and promises to make things better. THEN, literally 3 days later, another email was received about the glitch in their distribution center and OH - replacement items are now out of stock!

Many of your dog's toys should be interactive. Interactive play is very important for your dog because he needs active "people time." By focusing on a specific task, like repeatedly returning a ball, Kong® or Frisbee ®, or playing "hide-and-seek" with treats or toys, your dog can expend pent-up mental and physical energy in a limited amount of time and space. This greatly reduces stress due to confinement, isolation and/or boredom. For young, high-energy and untrained dogs, interactive play also offers an opportunity for socialization and helps them learn about appropriate and inappropriate behavior, such as jumping up or being mouthy.
That’s not because Reggie doesn’t like it. It’s actually his favorite. I’ve spoiled our dog with more toys than I care to admit, but he regularly trots up to me with the Hol-ee Roller for a game of fetch. I’d learned about the ball from friends we’d dog-sat for; their two Shih Tzus were always dropped off with one apiece. Yes, two dogs, two toys. It was easy to see why the pups didn’t want to share: The Hol-ee Roller is a hybrid bouncy ball and chew toy, with big holes that make it easy for smaller mouths to catch and grip and fling about. The rubber is durable but not inflexibly hard, so errant tosses aren’t a breaking hazard, and the ball’s squishiness absorbs its own noise and shock, which is nice news for your downstairs neighbor.
So what's the best way for a Slickdealer to get a BarkBox subscription? My recommendation is to sign up for the 12 month plan to lock in the $21/box price. Skip months when you've got too many toys, and feel at ease knowing you can cancel at any time. Basically, for the price of two generic toys from the pet store, you can get a themed box of curated goodies for your favorite fur baby.
Consumer products know that until you enter your card details, you haven't made the decision. There will be a drop-off at that point. So this allows them to capture you in their system even if you don't complete the purchase. If you sign up after this, great. If you don't, then expect nurturing emails over the next few weeks until you come back and get the box for your dog.
“The Bark & Co support team always strives to deepen customer relationships through social. However, with the sheer volume of direct messages coming in every day, it’s sometimes a challenge to maintain the levity and respond to customers promptly. Fortunately, with Zendesk Message and the use of a chatbot, we are able to escalate high priority conversations to our agents. This ensures that our support team can handle the more complex queries, leaving customers happier.”
