Hey Sonya and pack! Thanks so much for reaching out and we are so sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the norm for us, nor the experience that we want you to have. We know how much you and your pup depend on those monthly boxes. So we want to make sure you get them ASAP! I am also so sorry for the trouble and confusion with our warehouse move. I would love to further explain this to you and track down your box for you on my end to turn this around for you. Please reach out directly to Lindz@barkbox.com and we will get you all taken care of!
While the Nashville BarkPark is initially only a pop-up venture for now, BarkBox has ambitions to open more locations nationwide in the future. BarkPark also serves as an experimental retail channel for Bark. It follows the brand’s launch in more than 1,800 Target stores nationwide last August, followed up by Urban Outfitters earlier this month. Bark plans to announce more retail partners soon.

Soon after we adopted Ada (beagle mix, 16 pounds, 1 year), we learned we had a serious gnawer on our hands. Of all the elaborate toys we’ve impulse-bought to deter her from eating our belongings, the inexpensive Nylabone Dura Chew is one of the few that have withstood her teeth for more than a week. While the toy looks scraped-up at the edges these days, none of the plastic is actually coming off, as happens with most stuff she puts in her mouth (RIP to all the animal-shaped toys). The Nylabone’s slim shape tucks easily into her travel carrier when we head out to visit family, and it keeps the peace while we’re there. The classic design makes for some pretty adorable moments, too. It comes in a couple of flavors, but of the two we’ve bought, the original flavor is the one in heavy rotation. Don’t overthink it.
Super fast shipping! I got my box two days after my first subscription. I use BarkBox SuperChewer because my puppy will destroy all plush toys. She’s been loving it so far, it’s super durable. She also loved all of the treats they’ve delivered. I love how everything is natural and high quality, it gives me a piece of mind. My pup didn’t like some of the toys and customer service told me they can replace it. So far so good!
Dog toys are at the heart of most bonding moments between pet and parent. That’s because dogs of all ages thrive on regular exercise and interaction to keep them happy and healthy. Toys for dogs are key to helping your furry family member stay occupied, stimulated and content, as well as a great way for pet parents to interact with their pets in a fun, positive way. An entertaining and durable dog toy will effectively keep your dog busy and make them less likely to get bored and take out their energy on off-limit items like shoes, important documents, and more.

Maybe you want to be more involved in your dog's play time. Great! We offer a variety of toss Shop fetch dog toys, improving upon just the old tennis ball throw and catch with your dog. Chuckit's ultra balls offer improvements to normal tennis balls and come in a multiple variety of sizes for the smallest and biggest dogs, and can be purchased with ball launchers that send your dog happily running for long distances -- and keep your shoulder feeling A-ok. If you're looking for dog frisbees, check out Kong's Flyer Disc that's soft on your dog's teeth but can still fly maximum distances.

Subscriptions seem to be on autorenew. Right now, I pay for a year at a time. I can't remember if there is an option to pay for a month at a time or not. I am thinking not. Subscribers set up an account and from there, you can cancel if you desire. That option appears to be easy to figure out and not hidden like some autoship companies. The one thing I did not like is not getting a notification of when it was time for my yearly subscription rate being charged to my credit card. It's possible there was an e-mail but if there was, I didn't see it. I realize it is my responsibility to keep track of that. I do not know if it is possible to cancel mid-subscription if, heaven forbid, something would happen to my dog. I have to think it's possible as getting a new BarkBox could be painful shortly after losing a pet.
What comes each month seems to be tied into a holiday or time of year. For example, the BarkBox my dog received last week related to the Chinese New Year and contained treats like "Chompsticks" and a squeaker toy of a stuffed dragon. There are usually at least 2 themed toys, 2 themed smaller packages of treats, and at least 1 generic treat like a chew bone. The treats are marketed as "healthy snacks" like fruit chews and dried salmon. (If you get dried salmon, watch out. It smells! My dog loved it, however.) In addition to treats and toys, dog-related items may be included. We received a small treat jar and a water bottle to use when out walking.

Not only does the StarMark Bob-A-Lot dispense treats, but the weighted anti-slip bottom makes the toy wiggle and wobble, engaging your dog's senses and enticing him to play. Made from durable plastic and easy to clean, this toy is a top choice for dogs and dog owners alike. Simply fill it with treats then set it on the floor — a nudge is all it takes to make the toy wobble and your dog will be hooked immediately.
What you get: If your dog is notorious for being a power chewer then this box is for you. In every box, you’ll get toys and treats that are specially tailored to dogs who chew A LOT. Plus they have a killer guarantee which states that if your dog destroys any toy that they ship within 14 days, you’ll get a rougher and tougher toy sent straight to your door at no extra charge.
Hey Bonita and Bernie! Thanks so much for your kind words and for the rating! We are so happy to hear that we are bringing so much happiness to you, Bernie and the pups at Daycare as well monthly! In the meantime if you guys need anything at all going forward please don't hesitate to let us know. We are always happy to help at any time and spoil Bernie and the daycare pups more!
I purchased a six month order, all prepaid. The only reason I did order was there was a special going on that the first box would be doubled. After a few days the tracking hadn't updated so I chatted with them, and "it will be going out in the next day or two." Two weeks later and NOTHING has shipped. They keep offering me free boxes, but I can't seem to get the initial one that I paid for. A few days ago, a different lady said no you should have gotten it by now I will send a replacement. I thought ok great finally! HAHAHAHA Jokes on me!!! I received an email saying that my replacement was no longer available, but they would be happy to give me a free box at the end of my subscription. I am beyond frustrated, and fed up. I've asked to cancel my subscription, but they keep saying give it a little while. I just want my money back. I can go to the store and buy my babies toys...
Reviews from She Speaks and Influentser speak to the indestructibility of this toy. They also recommend freezing the toy with peanut butter filling as a refreshing summer treat. Our own testing revealed that even the smaller size of this toy was surprisingly durable and it was great for games of fetch. Our test dog couldn't get enough of the KONG Extreme Dog Toy's bouncing action, and the toy remained intact against her sharp puppy teeth.
Included in the package is a card that lists what was enclosed and information about how to order more of each. I have found the prices to do that are a little high. While I love my pets dearly, I usually get all other treats from my local stores. I have notice that Marshall's and TJ Maxx often carry some of the same packaged treats as found in BarkBoxes.
“When you tell customers when they should expect their shipments, they’re pretty good at holding you accountable to that,” Snowden says. But the homegrown fulfillment solution BarkBox was using made it difficult to communicate with customers when delivery information changed, and nearly impossible to get timely feedback when something went wrong. In the event of a delay, the information might not reach the customer until it was too late, and worse still, the customer would oftentimes reach out to the carrier’s customer support to get help. “The carriers of course do everything they can, but we as a brand lost the control over that experience,” Snowden says.

What you get: With PupJoy, you’ll get a curated box of premium, artisan dog goodies delivered straight to your door. All you need to do is personalize your plan based on your dog plan, choose a box type (treats, toys, or both), specify your treat or toy preferences, choose your dog size, and then select a frequency. This is by far the most specific and detailed monthly dog subscription box out there.

I have been a BarkBox subscriber for 4 years and have previously found them to be mildly inefficient but the billing is accurate, the toys are cute and the packaging is tidy. However, I recently placed a gift order to BarkBox and things have gone badly. I got a delivery eta of a week out. Package not received 2 weeks later, multiple (5) follow-up emails entirely ignored by BarkBox. Response that finally came cited “mass email” to all subscribers (never received, although I continue to receive lots of sales emails from BarkBox) and “ongoing warehouse inventory”, and hopes that the box will ship in the next week or so. There is no mechanism for expediting support requests, and the front line folks appear to working from scripts intended to appease and retain customers, regardless of whether or not the problem can be addressed.
I pay approximately $18 a month for the box. It is worth it to see how excited my dog gets when the box arrives. Her nose is right in there when I open it. She has never received a treat she didn't like. One time, we received cleaning cloths to wipe off muddy feet. She didn't like them so much . . . . the treats and toys are way more popular around here.

By focusing on a specific task —such as repeatedly returning a ball, Kong, or Frisbee® or playing "hide-and-seek" with treats or toys — your dog can expend pent-up mental and physical energy from boredom in a limited amount of time and space. For young, high-energy and untrained dogs, interactive play also offers an opportunity for socialization and helps them learn about appropriate and inappropriate behavior, such as jumping up or being mouthy.

I have just cancelled my Treat a Dog box and was excited to see reviews of the various other options. I have a pit bull and he has easily destroyed every toy in the boxes so far. I also love that there is now a Canadian option because some of the other boxes were only in the US. My favorite part of the surprise is how excited Diesel is when we get the mail. Thats mine mom! Mine! Open it open it open it!
BarkBox implemented Narvar to give customers clear, precise, and timely updates about their deliveries in a way that simplified the process for the team. Instead of deciphering a wide variety of different statuses from different carriers—each meaning something slightly different—now customers receive one of just three options: just shipped, on its way, or delivered. “Narvar puts everything into one universal template, which makes it much easier for customers to digest and deal with the information,” Snowden says about the current experience. “It removes a lot of the noise.”
Almost two years ago we tried and reviewed 7 of the subscription boxes on the market. Since then, we’ve tried boxes from another 6 or 7 companies. We’ve tried a lot of these boxes more than once. Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen about 50 subscription boxes from 14 different companies and I’ve written two comprehensive comparison posts. If that doesn’t make us experts on dog subscription boxes, I don’t know what does.
My pittie (Snoop, 55 pounds, 4 years) loves to destroy his toys, and the Chompster Mash toys from BarkShop are made with the intention of being destroyed. Even so, they tend to last much longer than the other plush creatures I buy Snoop—some for weeks! The three-eyed, squeaker-filled Goosie Goon is a good place to start. While they’re not cheap—especially considering that they meet the trash can before too long—they are the only toys that can keep Snoop occupied for hours. Bonus: BarkShop has a loyalty program called the Destroyers Club, where you can earn credits on future purchases if you share photos of your pup destroying these toys. Who doesn’t love sharing photos of their pup?

Hey Jenifer and Jack! Thanks so much for being such loyal members of the pack and for the kind words! Spoiling Jack makes us the happiest every single month! We would also love to hear these Fairy Tales that you are talking about. In the meantime if there is anything else that we might be able to help with please don't hesitate to let us know at any time.
Claire dislikes: Tbh, I was mildly exasperated by this box. They sent three of the same kind of toy, which was so disappointing because for the same gagging/choking hazard reasons I couldn't give Ruggie the lion toy from the BarkBox, I couldn't give these "iBalls" to her either. The antler I received was so, so small, and while I know Ruggie's a tiny beeb, she still goes to town on her chew toys and was worried she'd swallow it accidentally or something.
On the 20th, I filled out a support ticket to find out what was going on and was told there are delays this month due to a change in location of their warehouse. Now, wouldn't you think the company would send out a communication to its client base at the beginning of the month letting them know there may be delays this month due to a new location for their warehouse?
Great review. I started with barkbox years ago and switched to pet treater about 8 months ago when a friend told me they did the same. Very, very glad I did. Barkbox seems to appeal more to the pet owner rather than my actual dog. adopted a cat a few months back and signed up for pet treater’s cat pack and love it. I can’t compare it to any others, as I haven’t tried any other cat box, but I did notice all the other’s ive found are double the price, so I’ll stick with this one unless something changes.

Thank you so much! I have 4 yorkies. My babies who range in size. 3 lb to 8lbs with this review and due to your reply I’ll be buying at least boxes next month. Can’t wait! One box I’m excited now to say will be for my lady Xena who has allergies to certain foods. And I’m allergic to latex. So I can’t have any rubber toys delivered. Your reply put me at ease. Thank you!! Please.let me know if I can make sure to say to rubber only nylon?
After launching in 2011, Barkbox saw more than $1 million in revenues per month after only 2 years in business. By February 2014, they reached $25 million in revenue per year. It’s no wonder so many other monthly dog box companies popped up after Barkbox’s initial (and continuing) success. Here are the features that make Barkbox a winner for you and your pooch:
