I have a small Chinese Crested Chihuahua and he loves the treats, although the toys are not made sturdy enough. The biggest issue I have is I canceled in advance and they still charged my account! I want a full refund or next stop will be the BBB. If I receive any further boxes they will be returned. The meaning of a canceled subscription is no further payments will be made. Make this right and refund my money please!
I'm actually pretty sure that BarkBox charged me for a box that I haven't received...oh my, the thought of trying to get that refunded makes me sigh. I've tried the cute route, I might need to be a little more adult about this communication. For my pups, I'm going to try another toy delivery service, or simply buy toys through Chewy or hey, even the local pet supply store! Novel idea! Support local businesses!

"Hide and Seek" is a fun game for dogs to play. "Found" toys are often much more attractive. Making an interactive game out of finding toys or treats is a good rainy-day activity for your dog, using up energy without the need for a lot of space. For example, scattering a handful of kibble in the grass or on a patterned carpet will require your dog to use his nose to find the food.
Barkbox isnā€™t the be-all, end-all for solving boredom or behavior problems that stem from lack of stimulation. As most dog owners know, dogs want your attention and interaction more than anything else. But when you canā€™t spend time with him, new toys and treats are a great alternative. Dogs are almost always interested in anything new, according to results from a study published in the journalĀ Animal Cognition.

It's the perfect solution if you're looking for a way to tire your dog out. The Chuckit! Classic Ball Launcher is great for use in open spaces where your dog has plenty of room to run. Simply relax with a pile of tennis balls by your side and launch ball after ball until your dog will fetch no more. The unique claw grip allows you to pick up balls without using your hands and the 26-inch length means no more bending.
I thought I'd try BarkBox since they had a Black Friday Special for $5.00. I signed up and received the box fairly quickly, and not even 2 weeks later a $20 charge came out of my account. Wait, what? This is a monthly subscription, not every week and a half subscription! I went to cancel and you can cancel but only after your year subscription is up.
I have a yellow lab named Lola. I signed up for bark box and have never been disappointed with anything that the service has to offer. In the three boxes that we have gotten thus far, there have been some toys that Lola wonā€™t play with. When I called bark box, they sent replacement toys for Lola, and asked that I donate the other toys to a shelter. I have nothing but praise for this company. Anyone thinking about signing up for this service, remember this, you just canā€™t go wrong with bark box.
Beyond streamlining outgoing communications to customers, Narvar also simplifies incoming feedback so the BarkBox team can better understand how their customers really feel about their experiences. ā€œIt feels great when you see the good, and it breaks your heart when you see the bad,ā€ Snowden says. ā€œBut most importantly, weā€™re seeing it at all. We analyze the Narvar survey feedback every single month, which gives us the opportunity to improve our customer experience in a way we couldnā€™t before.ā€

I love barkboxĀ ! We switch [sic] from petbox to here because we heard they offered much more variety ! Which they definitely did ! Amazing way of trying new products out for your pup big or small . Itā€™s like Christmas every month for my Lhasa apso when the mailman delivers his barkbox ! Again worth it for the money! ā€” Maddie R., Influenster.com, 6/17/2015
Hey Anne! Thanks so much for reaching out to us and we are so very sorry to hear this! That is not the experience that we want you or that lucky pup to have at all. We want nothing more than to make the experience as easy and enjoyable for you as possible! I would love to turn this around for you and email you directly to get this taken care of! Please email us directly at Lindz@barkbox.com so we can ensure that pup gets that box!

So what's the best way for a Slickdealer to get a BarkBox subscription? My recommendation is to sign up for the 12 month plan to lock in the $21/box price. Skip months when you've got too many toys, and feel at ease knowing you can cancel at any time. Basically, for the price of two generic toys from the pet store, you can get a themed box of curated goodies for your favorite fur baby.
A good dog toy will amuse your dog for a little while, but a great dog toy will keep him busy for hours at a time. Choosing the perfect dog toy is about finding something your dog likes that will also stand up to some rough play and maybe some heavy chewing. Not all dog toys are created equal, and each dog has his own unique preferences. If you were to test all of the dog toys on the market, it would take you ages. Fortunately, we've done the work for you to find the best dog toys out there.
As a direct result of that feedback, BarkBox has implemented a new shipping upgrade program, which gives at-risk customers special incentives to put them back in the green. For every poor rating or dissatisfied review they receive, the BarkBox Happy Team reaches out directly to see how they can improve future deliveries for the customer. ā€œNow itā€™s within our power to do something when customers are dissatisfied, whereas before we were essentially in the dark,ā€ Snowden says. ā€œItā€™s another touchpoint with our customers that we didnā€™t have before.ā€

Of course, all of the boxes have been scrutinized through our eyes. While I donā€™t claim that everyone will agree with our assessment, we do have some pretty high standards. Chester and Gretel are strong chewers so toys have to be quality, or have some kind of special sauce, to last around this house; we live in Seattle ā€“ the land of high-end, boutique pet stores; and Iā€™ve seen some of the highest-quality, cutting edge products available at pet industry trade shows. We are not easy sells so I feel like when we say a subscription box is good, it really is.
I was hesitant at first about giving BarkBox a try. There are some pretty negative reviews out there, but I really believe you should experience things yourself and take people's opinions with a grain of salt. I subscribed to BarkBox on 9/16. I used a promo code to get my first box of $10.50. The box shipped incredibly fast! Things typically take longer than expected to get to me in Hawaii but I got my first box on 9/21. The theme is adorable, and the toys are fun. One of my dogs is more rough with toys, so we'll see how well they hold up, ha. I'm more excited about the high-quality treats! I usually spend more than $20 a month on my dogs, so this is a great deal for us.

The food-dispensing OurPets IQ Treat ball has been a favorite in our home for years and keeps our dog Pinky (pit mix, 60 pounds, 9 years) mentally and physically active as well as entertained for a half hour or more at a time. To get kibble or treats out, she has to roll the ball or pick it up in her mouth and throw it. We can easily adjust the opening of the interior compartment to dispense less readily if sheā€™s up for the challenge (or go in the other direction if sheā€™s not). She loves this toy so much, she prefers eating her meals from it rather than from her bowl. This ball is also one of the longest-lasting dog toys weā€™ve owned; it gets a beating but has stood up to more than four years of near-daily use.

Claire's and Emmy's thoughts: First off, every one of these boxes helps other dogs in need, which is just so incredibly awesome and something you can feel good about. Barkbox donates 10% of profits to different shelters and rescues in the US and Canada; Dapper Dog donates $1 per box different rescues, shelters, and other pet organizations; and PupJoy donates $2 from every subscription box to the Bissell Pet Foundation, which works with rescues to provide resources for pet adoption, spay/neuter programs, microchipping, and foster care. Yay for giving back!
Funny, I just canceled Barkbox. I repeatedly asked them to upgrade me to the heavy chewers box. The toys sent were WAY undersized for my dog and were destroyed in minutes, a few I would have actually considered choke hazards for my 90 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback (the stuffed raindrops in the ā€˜cloudā€™ toy a couple months ago). Iā€™m trying Dapper Dog since they have an EASY to find option for Extra Large dogs and itā€™s easy to specify a heavy chewer right from the get go.

The toys are very good value. They are high quality and most importantly, very unique. I can't find any toys at the store like the ones they put in the box. BarkBox often uses a combination of crinkle paper, squeakers (tube/regular), and rope. The problem with store toys is they are usually only squeaker or only rope, etc. BarkBox will use crinkle paper and a tube squeaker in one toy and maybe even some rope. This is something that is small but seems like a big deal to my dog.
The StarMark Bob-A-Lot treat-dispensing toy is the perfect solution if you're looking for a toy that exercises and feeds your dog at the same time. With a 3-cup capacity, you can fill this toy with your dog's kibble or a handful of his favorite treats to motivate him to keep playing with the toy until it is completely empty. Plus, adjustable openings on the top and bottom of the toy allow you to customize the level of difficulty to extend each play session to the max.
Allergies? Multi-dog homes? Heavier chewers? BarkBoxes can be tailored to accommodate your pup (or pups!), happiness guaranteed. Every month brings $40 worth of dog joy, with plans starting at $21 a month, and we offer FREE shipping to anywhere in the USA and Canada. Spoil your dog with BarkBoxā€”itā€™s like the joy of a million belly scratches, delivered directly to your door.

The Sprong feels soft and bounces and squeaks, and itā€™s one of the only toys that have consistently kept the attention of my dogs (Ziggy and Lily, Chihuahua mixes, 11 and 12 pounds, 2 and 7 years, respectively). Other toys get shredded or elicit only a mild wag after a few weeks, but because the Sprong has no enticing stuffing to rip out and bounces in an irregular manner, it keeps the little pups on their toes. My toddler also steals the Sprongā€”all doggie toys are toddler toys. But big dogs, beware: The Sprongā€™s individual nubs are Chihuahua resistant (our pups have had the same Sprong for five years now), but they may not stand up to the stronger jaws of larger dogs.
Worth every single penny. I literally can not say enough amazing things about BarkBox. First of all, and most importantly, my 3 dogs LOVE IT! Secondly, all of the toys are FUN, creative, and durable. You can buy seconds of ones your pup loves and seconds on treats as well. Thirdly! They have this really cool program where if your pup destroys something, you can post the aftermath on any social media, tag #destroyersclub and barkbox will give you credit on barkshop for some new toys!
Thank you so much! I have 4 yorkies. My babies who range in size. 3 lb to 8lbs with this review and due to your reply Iā€™ll be buying at least boxes next month. Canā€™t wait! One box Iā€™m excited now to say will be for my lady Xena who has allergies to certain foods. And Iā€™m allergic to latex. So I canā€™t have any rubber toys delivered. Your reply put me at ease. Thank you!! Please.let me know if I can make sure to say to rubber only nylon?
I had a terrible experience with barkbox. My dog is not a strong chewer at all (he's a shih tzu) but somehow every time we got a box the toys were super cheap and would fall apart immediately. I was actually thinking of quitting the subscription but I liked the surprises each month so I thought I'd stick it out a few months. He had never destroyed any toys until we started getting barkbox toys, so after a couple deliveries - I knew they were cheaper than average. They'd basically fall apart in 2 min of him playing with them which sucked. On our last barkbox, one toy actually fell apart immediately when he was chewing on the new toy for the first time (literally within a minute of me giving it to him) he accidentally swallowed the squeaker and ended up having a $5000+ surgery as a result to get it out. He had to be completely cut open. Between the emotional pain of my dog having surgery, being in the ICU, having a pain med patch stapled to his back and weeks of recovery, I never trusted this company again. I wish I had never tried them.Suffice to say, not a fan and I tell anyone considering trying them this story. I'd rather pick my own treats and toys and be able to know what i'm getting quality wise. Be careful if you subscribe, big breeds might be ok but I'm sure small breeds regularly have this happen to them with this company.
But the data also shows a wide range. The lower bound is under $15, while the upper bound is over $35. This means there is scope for BarkBox to ā€œcomplicateā€ their pricing. Consumer products try and keep pricing simple to reduce the friction in the sign-up. This often leads to them leaving money on the table. Here, BarkBox has options at both the premium level and the lower priced level:
