I read about this strange mammal-cephalopod hybrid toy during Fugly Week and immediately bought it to see if Reggie would also take to it like crazy. He did. The combination of plush animal head, ball-shaped body (with wake-the-dead squeaker inside) and dangly, flappy limbs is dog magic, and when he’s not flinging his foxtopus (and buntopus) about he’s using it as a pillow.
PawPacks ship in the middle of the month, every month! The deadline to place your order to receive a given month’s Pack is the 25th of the month. If you place your first (or any) order between the 15th and the 25th, your first box will ship out within 2-5 business days from the date you have signed up. If you sign up after the 25th, your PawPack will ship out around the middle of the following month. Why hasnt anyone mentioned The Dapper Dog Box. They customize for allergies, grain free, give uber durable toys for heavy chewers ( like rubber, antlers, nylon chews) and they include amazing $30 bandanas from coco and pistachio and adorable bowties. They rock, the owner is super sweet and the treats are the healthiest ive seen. We’ve been a loyal customer for over a year and weve tried like 3 other boxes that were pretty awful. Dapper dog box rocks.
Great review. I started with barkbox years ago and switched to pet treater about 8 months ago when a friend told me they did the same. Very, very glad I did. Barkbox seems to appeal more to the pet owner rather than my actual dog. adopted a cat a few months back and signed up for pet treater’s cat pack and love it. I can’t compare it to any others, as I haven’t tried any other cat box, but I did notice all the other’s ive found are double the price, so I’ll stick with this one unless something changes.

Not only do the themed monthly boxes start at only $21, but if your pup doesn’t dig something that came in his box, the company will fix it for you according to their Scout’s Honor policy. Although I can personally attest to the fact that you will be making very few calls to Customer Service, as all treats and toys are dog-tested and approved. My 3-year-old Pomeranian never met a BarkBox she didn’t like, and now she’s convinced every package that comes through my apartment door is for her. #Princess.
Thanks so much for your review and for making us aware. We are so very sorry to hear that the treats didn't work out. Our main priority is for your pup to be happy and healthy. So we are so sorry that wasn't the case with those. We are more than happy to look more into this for you and we hope to get an update on how your pup is doing! We would also love more info on these treats if you still have them! Please email us directly at Lindz@barkbox.com so we can make sure your pup is okay and to get more info on the treats!
Im glad to have come across this article of reviews of the different pet boxes I am getting a gift for someone and a box for my little girl she just lost her grand father misses him and would have got another for my male Samoyed but he just passed away due to my vets mistreatment he was a National Specialty Show dog of the country and top number 2 Sammie in the country several times.
The page is designed to get you signed up for six months, paying now. The “most popular” banner and the clear signal of how much it costs (“$138 billed today”) draw the eye to that option. This is a great example of pricing page design. With just two simple elements, BarkBox can get customers signed up for at least six months and get that cash in advance.
I have tried Pet Gift Box and Barkbox. I have a beagle with allergies and is rough with his toys so I like that BarkBox provides boxes for them. Both have really cute themes. Pet Gift Box was Back To School it had a yellow bus toy, apple squeaky ball, a carton of milk filled with cookies, and notebook shaped treat. BarkBox the first one was New York themed a Statue of Liberty squeaky ball, chinese box with dumplings it was a toy, I didn’t like October’s box the vampire fang squeaky ball was cute but the coffin squeaky toy was kinda morbid but I guess it is the Vampires it was wood looking soft 4 rope pulls. November was a squeaky apron, and a turkey leg shaped ball that dispense treats when he rolls it around. BarkBox C.S. is excellent. I had to blast Pet Gift Box on twitter for their failure to respond to my emails and no info on shipping 3 weeks had passed and the site said 6-10 days I think but my gripe was they failed to answer any of my emails. They were like Flash Gordon after my tweet shame I had to go thru all that. Maybe they could offer a plan where you can get clothing and accessories instead of toys and treats but my beagle has never forgiven me for sweater I put on him it was a tad snug..lol. After that if you put anything on him he just lays on his back wiggling and twisting. But as for now I am grateful that he is able to get treats and toys he can actually enjoy he seems to be allergic to everything and he has Addisons disease he gets a shot every month. I think Pet Giftbox offers the allergy friendly and heavy chewers box called PawPack.
Loot Pets is a subscription from Loot Crate. Its focus is on geeky dog toys, treats, and gear! Based out of New York, New York, BarkBox is a subscription-based online service where members receive monthly surprises for their dogs, consisting of all-natural treats, hygiene products, and toys. The service is for dogs of all sizes, including puppies, medium-sized adults, or even large breeds such as Great Danes. As such, BarkBox carefully crafts each of your monthly boxes to your specific dog’s size—and because you never know what you’re going to get, each of the 4-6 items you receive will always be a surprise.
If you’re raising your puppy in a city or urban area, this might be the perfect solution for a small outdoor space that lacks foliage like a patio or a balcony. Since the product is an actual living plant, the root bed is able to break down odors and the entire thing is compostable at the end of the month. It almost seems too good to be true for only $24 a month!

Not so happy with this company. It is already August and have not received my July box yet. When I try to check online, it just says, "Information not available yet." Talked to the rep and she said there have been some delays with getting boxes out due to a warehouse move, and while I understand the delay (I guess?), being proactive and communicating this information to customers would go a long way to avoid frustration. They did offer to make the August box free, which is nice, but as of now, my August box will be delivered before the July box. Makes no sense. It's a bummer. I was excited, but I'm not trusting that future orders will be timely.

I have been subscribed to Barkbox for over a year and will be a customer of theirs forever. Their customer service is one of the best I've ever experienced. My dog never liked toys, but I ordered him a Barkbox and now he actually plays with toys! I'm so happy that I found this company because my dog gets so excited every time he sees me bring inside the Barkbox. The box is also a great value.

They have 3 options. Regular, heavy chewer, which they upgrade you for free, but I recommend super chewer box. You pay an extra $9 or so per box, but they come backed with a 14 day guarantee. My two large GSDs have not chewed through a single toy from the first box we tried, in December. Worth looking into! They were also very responsive to me on the online chat, during their business hours. One chew they went through in minutes, not a toy, but a chew, and because I pay extra I was frustrated. I got an immediate reply from their online chat option, and they offered to send TWO replacement chews. Such great options! I also recommend you trying bullymake, and my favorite is DapperDog, which I was disappointed that it wasn’t even mentioned in this article. Worth looking into!

I would be interested in a comparison between the companies that donate to shelters/rescues about the cost compared to donation rate. That has a big impact on my decision of which company to use. Currently we subscribe to Rescue Box. My border collie/aussie/whoknowswhat mix destroys most of the toys in minutes, but she has such fun doing it we don’t mind. We just make sure we are watching so she doesn’t swallow anything she shouldn’t. I have 7 dogs and they all find something they want in the Rescue Box. It’s a great day when a box arrives each month no matter what.
Bonus — If you’re gifting a BarkBox subscription, you can surprise your recipient with a Double Deluxe BarkBox. That means, in their first BarkBox, they’ll get DOUBLE the number of toys, treats, and chews than a regular BarkBox – that’s FOUR toys, FOUR treats, and TWO chews! It’s a one-time $19 upgrade to make a wow-worthy Christmas gift of two boxes worth of dog goodies, followed by regular BarkBoxes for the rest of the subscription. While the Nashville BarkPark is initially only a pop-up venture for now, BarkBox has ambitions to open more locations nationwide in the future. BarkPark also serves as an experimental retail channel for Bark. It follows the brand’s launch in more than 1,800 Target stores nationwide last August, followed up by Urban Outfitters earlier this month. Bark plans to announce more retail partners soon.
