With 500,000 subscribers to its delivery service and over 4 million fans on Facebook and Instagram, BarkBox’s social media team creates original video content and shares relatable memes with its followers in order to remind them of the emotional connection humans have with their furry friends. “We use mission-based marketing at an ambition-based company,” said CMO Jay Livingston, who joined Bark from Bank of America this July. “By not holding our social team to reach sales requirements, we give them an environment to create entertaining content to reach our highly engaged audience.”
According to the BarkBox website, all edible items are tested in-house, are sourced directly from the U.S., Canada, South America, Australia, and New Zealand, and are never processed with formaldehyde. Because BarkBox’s founders are dog lovers as well, they wouldn’t send anything to your dogs, that they wouldn’t send to their own. In addition, the company claims that at least 10% of all profits are given to canine-related shelters, rescues, and welfare organizations.
Why hasnt anyone mentioned The Dapper Dog Box. They customize for allergies, grain free, give uber durable toys for heavy chewers ( like rubber, antlers, nylon chews) and they include amazing $30 bandanas from coco and pistachio and adorable bowties. They rock, the owner is super sweet and the treats are the healthiest ive seen. We’ve been a loyal customer for over a year and weve tried like 3 other boxes that were pretty awful. Dapper dog box rocks.

Barkbox donates 10% of profits to different shelters and rescues in the US and Canada; Dapper Dog donates $1 per box different rescues, shelters, and other pet organizations; and PupJoy donates $2 from every subscription box to the Bissell Pet Foundation, which works with rescues to provide resources for pet adoption, spay/neuter programs, microchipping, and foster care. Yay for giving back!
Bone (pit bull, 40 pounds, 6 years) loves to retrieve and chew tennis balls, but tears into them within minutes. The Chuckit Ultra Ball in medium is the same size as a standard tennis ball but made entirely of rubber. It’s much more difficult to chew through, so she’s able to chomp on it for a while (with supervision); the balls have lasted for up to a year. I have been subscribed to Barkbox for over a year and will be a customer of theirs forever. Their customer service is one of the best I've ever experienced. My dog never liked toys, but I ordered him a Barkbox and now he actually plays with toys! I'm so happy that I found this company because my dog gets so excited every time he sees me bring inside the Barkbox. The box is also a great value.
Emmy likes: You have the the option to choose a treats and toys *or* a treats-only or toys-only box, which is very cool — and can specify whether you'd like the treats to be all-natural, organic, grain-free, or protein-sensitive. You can also choose how frequently you'd like to be sent the box (monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly) and how many items you'd like to be in the box; the "uno" comes with four to five items, and the "grande" with five to seven. The power chewer option is only $7 more than a regular box, which makes it an incredible deal, overall.

This is where BarkBox blew me away with their customer service and their attention to detail regarding my specific needs. Within 30 minutes I got a response noting my concerns. One of there team members mailed out a new bag of treats for my dog to try free of charge! We also discussed that maybe my dog wasn’t a big chewer however cotton stuffed toys weren’t great either. She suggested I get a box with "durable fabric" toys instead. She also mailed out a sample toy for my dog to try. Free of charge. He loved it! They lowered my monthly subscription right away. They even followed up to make sure my dog was loving his new box and if I needed to tweak it any further.
