Subscriptions seem to be on autorenew. Right now, I pay for a year at a time. I can't remember if there is an option to pay for a month at a time or not. I am thinking not. Subscribers set up an account and from there, you can cancel if you desire. That option appears to be easy to figure out and not hidden like some autoship companies. The one thing I did not like is not getting a notification of when it was time for my yearly subscription rate being charged to my credit card. It's possible there was an e-mail but if there was, I didn't see it. I realize it is my responsibility to keep track of that. I do not know if it is possible to cancel mid-subscription if, heaven forbid, something would happen to my dog. I have to think it's possible as getting a new BarkBox could be painful shortly after losing a pet.

This is where BarkBox blew me away with their customer service and their attention to detail regarding my specific needs. Within 30 minutes I got a response noting my concerns. One of there team members mailed out a new bag of treats for my dog to try free of charge! We also discussed that maybe my dog wasn’t a big chewer however cotton stuffed toys weren’t great either. She suggested I get a box with "durable fabric" toys instead. She also mailed out a sample toy for my dog to try. Free of charge. He loved it! They lowered my monthly subscription right away. They even followed up to make sure my dog was loving his new box and if I needed to tweak it any further.
Unfortunately I had to cancel my bark box subscription. I have huge dogs, aggressive chewers. Each month they send a toy, a stuffed toy. Which lasts all of 15 minutes with my dogs… I contacted Bark box month after month requesting non stuffed toys. The food-dispensing OurPets IQ Treat ball has been a favorite in our home for years and keeps our dog Pinky (pit mix, 60 pounds, 9 years) mentally and physically active as well as entertained for a half hour or more at a time. To get kibble or treats out, she has to roll the ball or pick it up in her mouth and throw it. We can easily adjust the opening of the interior compartment to dispense less readily if she’s up for the challenge (or go in the other direction if she’s not). She loves this toy so much, she prefers eating her meals from it rather than from her bowl. This ball is also one of the longest-lasting dog toys we’ve owned; it gets a beating but has stood up to more than four years of near-daily use.

Soon after we adopted Ada (beagle mix, 16 pounds, 1 year), we learned we had a serious gnawer on our hands. Of all the elaborate toys we’ve impulse-bought to deter her from eating our belongings, the inexpensive Nylabone Dura Chew is one of the few that have withstood her teeth for more than a week. While the toy looks scraped-up at the edges these days, none of the plastic is actually coming off, as happens with most stuff she puts in her mouth (RIP to all the animal-shaped toys). The Nylabone’s slim shape tucks easily into her travel carrier when we head out to visit family, and it keeps the peace while we’re there. The classic design makes for some pretty adorable moments, too. It comes in a couple of flavors, but of the two we’ve bought, the original flavor is the one in heavy rotation. Don’t overthink it.
Emmy likes: You have the the option to choose a treats and toys *or* a treats-only or toys-only box, which is very cool — and can specify whether you'd like the treats to be all-natural, organic, grain-free, or protein-sensitive. You can also choose how frequently you'd like to be sent the box (monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly) and how many items you'd like to be in the box; the "uno" comes with four to five items, and the "grande" with five to seven. The power chewer option is only $7 more than a regular box, which makes it an incredible deal, overall.

Me and Winne love bark box!!!!!! They have the most amazing customer service that I've ever dealt with. We had an incident were Winnie's barkbox got thrown over the fence and she shredded it and destroyed the whole box and treats. I contacted bark box and they sent us a new box without question. They were very personal and recommended I watch Winnie to make sure she didn't get sick from consuming all those treats and possibly shreds of the packaging. I've also contact them before this telling them that Winnie destroys every toy she received and they upgraded my account to extra durable toys with no up charge. She still shreds all the plush toys she gets but some of the other toys that aren't cloth she hasn't put a scratch on. In my box every month I receive 2-3 toys, 2 bags of treats, and some type of chewing treat like a bone. I also love bark box because all the products and treats in it are good for your dog. If you read the ingredients on the back there isn't any outrageous names that you don't know the meaning to. All the treats are so healthy. Literally one of the treat packages I got was dried sheep lungs and that was the only ingredient on the package. BarkBox

Well, the package didn't come Tuesday either, so again I messaged and was then given an email similar to the last one apologizing and saying the package would be there in a few days because it'd been shipped. It's not Thursday, and although I've written them on their "live chat" three times today, they have ignored all my messages. I wrote them on another number just asking them if this was BarkBox and I got a response, within twenty minutes they responded. When I told the person that I had been trying to reach them on my other account with no answer I haven't received a reply since.
