What comes each month seems to be tied into a holiday or time of year. For example, the BarkBox my dog received last week related to the Chinese New Year and contained treats like "Chompsticks" and a squeaker toy of a stuffed dragon. There are usually at least 2 themed toys, 2 themed smaller packages of treats, and at least 1 generic treat like a chew bone. The treats are marketed as "healthy snacks" like fruit chews and dried salmon. (If you get dried salmon, watch out. It smells! My dog loved it, however.) In addition to treats and toys, dog-related items may be included. We received a small treat jar and a water bottle to use when out walking.

I decided to give the product a try because it was only $5 for my first box thanks to @influenster! You have to subscribe to receive the box at normal price after the first discounted one. They have multiple options to how often you want to receive a box and how many items you want it filled with. They have themes for each box they send and it’s fun how it’s always a surprise. We received the #PupstateOrchards themed box and I loved how they had the option to choose what size size dog you have so that they can match the treats and toys to the correct size dogs. I was skeptical at first that I even cancelled the subscription as soon as my order for my first one was put in but after I received the box, I was sure to go back in and resubscribe. Way to go guys! I first signed up for back box 4 months ago when they were running a special. I signed up for the 6-month bark box and did not read the VERY small, fine print that they had on the sign up which I was under the impression I would get a bark box every 6 months, and pay for them every six months when they ship it. Unfortunately, the small print stated that it was 1 box every month for 6 months and that the price would increase after the first month.
I am the owner/operator of a Doggy DayCamp (daycare for dogs), and I was searching for unusual, but fun toys for two DayCampers having their one-year Birthday. I could have ordered the same toys via Amazon Prime but I decided that I wanted to see what BarkBox was all about. Huge mistake. They are the worst. They took my money and never shipped birthday gifts.

I have been subscribed to Barkbox for over a year and will be a customer of theirs forever. Their customer service is one of the best I've ever experienced. My dog never liked toys, but I ordered him a Barkbox and now he actually plays with toys! I'm so happy that I found this company because my dog gets so excited every time he sees me bring inside the Barkbox. The box is also a great value.
Total price of items, if bought individually: ~$51.89 for Ruggie's box ("iBalls" dog toys, elk antler chew, salmon and ginger treats, chicken-flavor training teats, stuffless crinkle bone toy) and ~$76 for Tico's box (turkey and duck burger treats, salmon and ginger treats, chicken jerky treats, rocket dispenser toy, nubby toss toy, stuffless crinkle bone toy). All prices sourced from Amazon and Pupjoy's website.
Included in the package is a card that lists what was enclosed and information about how to order more of each. I have found the prices to do that are a little high. While I love my pets dearly, I usually get all other treats from my local stores. I have notice that Marshall's and TJ Maxx often carry some of the same packaged treats as found in BarkBoxes.

Great review. I started with barkbox years ago and switched to pet treater about 8 months ago when a friend told me they did the same. Very, very glad I did. Barkbox seems to appeal more to the pet owner rather than my actual dog. adopted a cat a few months back and signed up for pet treater’s cat pack and love it. I can’t compare it to any others, as I haven’t tried any other cat box, but I did notice all the other’s ive found are double the price, so I’ll stick with this one unless something changes.
Claire dislikes: So Ruggie loves the Hippo, Trek Treats and the Banana Safari Snacks but tbh, I didn't even give her the lion toy because even though she would love it, toys with that kind of long hairy stuff make her gag. And maybe I'm being paranoid (new dog mom over here!), but that butcher's bone seemed kinda gross. I mean, it had a "no carpet" warning on it because it would leave stains, and if I can't have something on a carpet, why would I want the bone gunk all over her fur, which then would get all over her bed? Idk, maybe I'll give it to her as a puppy kindergarten graduation present and have her eat it in the kitchen.

Bone (pit bull, 40 pounds, 6 years) loves to retrieve and chew tennis balls, but tears into them within minutes. The Chuckit Ultra Ball in medium is the same size as a standard tennis ball but made entirely of rubber. It’s much more difficult to chew through, so she’s able to chomp on it for a while (with supervision); the balls have lasted for up to a year. Plus, the Ultra Ball is bouncier on turf than most tennis balls, which makes for more stimulating games of fetch. The bright orange hue makes it easy to spot—even in tall grass. Within 24 hours of making my review, I was contacted by someone else with the company who had reviewed my chat and felt that I was not treated fairly or listened too and that my concerns were valid enough to where they wanted to make it right.
