Within 24 hours of making my review, I was contacted by someone else with the company who had reviewed my chat and felt that I was not treated fairly or listened too and that my concerns were valid enough to where they wanted to make it right. They have since sent me 6 more bark boxes (free of charge) AND donated to a pet rescue of my choice in honor of my own pups who are rescues.
I love coming home and seeing the BarkBox on my porch. My dog, Duke, also loves it when he sees me bring it inside. It's the highlight of the month for Duke. He'll stare at it, because he knows what it is, even though he can't open it. He loves all the toys, and all the treats that he receives. I have not received a treat bag yet that he wouldn't eat. And the customer service is the best on the planet. I'm very happy with being a BarkBox customer!

My first order my dog tore apart toys within one hour. I called to cancel, and they won’t let me! They said I signed up for a year and I’m stuck. They keep shipping every month and charging my PayPal account. So I have a balance with PayPal, and I keep sending the boxes back unopened. Total scam! Now I can’t use my PayPal account or cancel it! Ugh! Don’t sign up!

It has become a phrase in my house to get the pups to come or do as I say by simply saying those two wonderful words BARKBOX! I have two dachshunds that absolutely love their toys every month, and have even learned when each month to start expecting them and literally watching out the window! But my babies aren't the only ones in love with this company... Over the past year I have found the BarkBox employees to be by far the most kind caring and helpful of any company I have ever dealt with. Each plan automatically renews at its original interval (monthly, six months, or yearly), and you can cancel your renewal at any time. But if you really don't like the idea of commitments, rest assured that you can simply "bark in" to customer service and they will cancel your subscription immediately, regardless of your renewal date. They'll also issue a refund for any unused months if you are on the pre-paid plan. I confirmed this via chat, and it's also where I picked up all this doggie-lingo.
Funny, I just canceled Barkbox. I repeatedly asked them to upgrade me to the heavy chewers box. The toys sent were WAY undersized for my dog and were destroyed in minutes, a few I would have actually considered choke hazards for my 90 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback (the stuffed raindrops in the ‘cloud’ toy a couple months ago). I’m trying Dapper Dog since they have an EASY to find option for Extra Large dogs and it’s easy to specify a heavy chewer right from the get go.

PawPacks ship in the middle of the month, every month! The deadline to place your order to receive a given month’s Pack is the 25th of the month. If you place your first (or any) order between the 15th and the 25th, your first box will ship out within 2-5 business days from the date you have signed up. If you sign up after the 25th, your PawPack will ship out around the middle of the following month. Please note: Shipping information must be changed before the 5th of the month in order to affect that month’s shipment. All address changes made after this date will become effective on the next month’s shipment. If you have to wait a few weeks because you missed the deadline, we have plenty of ways to keep busy with our blog, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages to stay up to date on our adorable PawPack family!

Almost two years ago we tried and reviewed 7 of the subscription boxes on the market. Since then, we’ve tried boxes from another 6 or 7 companies. We’ve tried a lot of these boxes more than once. Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen about 50 subscription boxes from 14 different companies and I’ve written two comprehensive comparison posts. If that doesn’t make us experts on dog subscription boxes, I don’t know what does.
When I'd initiate a chat on their website, or send an email, I was offered replacement items, then would receive an email two weeks later telling me the replacements were out of stock. Lately, every email has been talking about their new distribution center, but there has been a glitch and so things are delayed. The new distribution center was supposedly going to make things more reliable - uh, not true.
We received 3 months as a gift. However since our pup has food allergies I contacted Bark Box to change the food and snacks provided. Response time is horrible. I had to email several times… When they did reply they confirmed that they would put us on their list of dogs with special dietary restrictions. The food-dispensing OurPets IQ Treat ball has been a favorite in our home for years and keeps our dog Pinky (pit mix, 60 pounds, 9 years) mentally and physically active as well as entertained for a half hour or more at a time. To get kibble or treats out, she has to roll the ball or pick it up in her mouth and throw it. We can easily adjust the opening of the interior compartment to dispense less readily if she’s up for the challenge (or go in the other direction if she’s not). She loves this toy so much, she prefers eating her meals from it rather than from her bowl. This ball is also one of the longest-lasting dog toys we’ve owned; it gets a beating but has stood up to more than four years of near-daily use.

For $20 a month, dog owners get a box of predominantly Bark-branded toys, treats and chews. Boxes are arranged around a theme, which run through the choice of treats, toys and package inserts. This month's holiday-themed box had Howliday Spectacular Dancer tug toys and Holly, Jolly, and Gabe squeakers.
