Used to review dog boxes, paied for them so I could say what I wanted. The DapperDog I was so excited to order, however subpar for the price when I recieved it. Both my dogs either the toy fell apart, the list goes on. It’s a more expensive box that I found did not match what was in the box. I like to change up every year, this box half I could not use. I am honestly shocked they have are still around. Just my 2 cents.

I would be interested in a comparison between the companies that donate to shelters/rescues about the cost compared to donation rate. That has a big impact on my decision of which company to use. Currently we subscribe to Rescue Box. My border collie/aussie/whoknowswhat mix destroys most of the toys in minutes, but she has such fun doing it we don’t mind. We just make sure we are watching so she doesn’t swallow anything she shouldn’t. I have 7 dogs and they all find something they want in the Rescue Box. It’s a great day when a box arrives each month no matter what.

Play a game of tug-of-war with your best friend when you throw a rope toy at his or her feet. With a large selection, featuring Multipet and Rascals® brands and styles ranging from simple woven-cotton rope toys with large knots on either end, to exciting figure 8s and ropes with three knots, your dog will want to play with you for hours. Each plan automatically renews at its original interval (monthly, six months, or yearly), and you can cancel your renewal at any time. But if you really don't like the idea of commitments, rest assured that you can simply "bark in" to customer service and they will cancel your subscription immediately, regardless of your renewal date. They'll also issue a refund for any unused months if you are on the pre-paid plan. I confirmed this via chat, and it's also where I picked up all this doggie-lingo.
Claire dislikes: Tbh, I was mildly exasperated by this box. They sent three of the same kind of toy, which was so disappointing because for the same gagging/choking hazard reasons I couldn't give Ruggie the lion toy from the BarkBox, I couldn't give these "iBalls" to her either. The antler I received was so, so small, and while I know Ruggie's a tiny beeb, she still goes to town on her chew toys and was worried she'd swallow it accidentally or something.
The Barkbox team uses product testers like Scout, (That dog is positively adorable!) an 18-month old Miniature Schnauzer to select products. The products are 100% organic and made from highest quality ingredients. (The ingredients and products are a real treat for my dogs and they are unusual too, once we even got a non-alcoholic dog beer called Bowser Beer in our June 2013 box.)
Hey there Christy and pack! We are so happy to hear that you guys are loving the monthly goodies and we don't blame you at all. They are just that good. I'm so sad thought to hear that some of the toys are not the perfect size for Milo! We want to keep those tails wagging and to make the boxes as special for you guys as we can. So what we can do is customize your monthly boxes to better cater your whole pack! Then we can also customize the chews so you don't get them in your boxes or we can customize them so you don't get the harder ones. We would love to help with this and can do so if you email us directly at Lindz@barkbox.com!
Some days Sutton (Chihuahua mix, 8 pounds, 1 year) has so much puppy energy left over from dog-park play that she just runs around the apartment, digs out all of her toys from the toy bin, and squeaks anything she can find for hours on end. I may be the worst pet parent ever, but all that squeaking can get annoying. So I was happy to discover Hear Doggy ultrasonic squeaker toys, because they use squeakers tuned to an ultrasonic frequency between 24 and 28 KHz that’s silent to people but still makes a fun noise for dogs. To people it sounds like the squeaker died and there’s just a little trapped air being pushed out, but apparently to a dog it still sounds like their favorite toy. Sutton gets just as excited when squeaking this thing as she does her traditional squeakers—fun times for her and a lifesaver for my ears.

Soft, plush dog chew toys make great gifts for your pup for any occasion. Your best friend will always love it when you toss one his or her way. Fun options include toys with farm and wild animal shapes with inner squeakers to catch and hold your dog's attention. It makes for an adorable picture when your pup falls asleep on a dog bed with the plush still in his or her mouth.

Subscriptions seem to be on autorenew. Right now, I pay for a year at a time. I can't remember if there is an option to pay for a month at a time or not. I am thinking not. Subscribers set up an account and from there, you can cancel if you desire. That option appears to be easy to figure out and not hidden like some autoship companies. The one thing I did not like is not getting a notification of when it was time for my yearly subscription rate being charged to my credit card. It's possible there was an e-mail but if there was, I didn't see it. I realize it is my responsibility to keep track of that. I do not know if it is possible to cancel mid-subscription if, heaven forbid, something would happen to my dog. I have to think it's possible as getting a new BarkBox could be painful shortly after losing a pet.
Decided to try Barkbox for my 2 Malinois and my Boston Terrier. They are sharing one box started three months ago. All but one toys from the first 2 boxes are still intact. And they like the baked treats. My third box was stolen from the post office parcel box, and the company replaced it even though it was clearly not their fault. Would highly recommend this. The dogs and I have fun with the boxes!
I really love the BarkBoxes that come to the door. It really has good treats and cute toys for our fur babies. There is two things I would change. 1. Months with holidays given the option to choose holiday toys or regular. Like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July... etc. I would choose the holiday every time. 2. On the birthday months, you sent out a email asking about the birthday cake treat. I wished it would have arrived before the birthday, instead of 5 days later. It was disappointing.
Consumer products know that until you enter your card details, you haven't made the decision. There will be a drop-off at that point. So this allows them to capture you in their system even if you don't complete the purchase. If you sign up after this, great. If you don't, then expect nurturing emails over the next few weeks until you come back and get the box for your dog.
Surprise My Pet rounds out our top three best monthly dog box subscription boxes as a newcomer that’s already making a paw print among its competition. Launched in early 2015, Surprise My Pet stands out for its unique features, namely its paw for paw guarantee — if your dog is totally uninterested in one of the products, you can email them, and they’ll send you a replacement item for free.
With 500,000 subscribers to its delivery service and over 4 million fans on Facebook and Instagram, BarkBox’s social media team creates original video content and shares relatable memes with its followers in order to remind them of the emotional connection humans have with their furry friends. “We use mission-based marketing at an ambition-based company,” said CMO Jay Livingston, who joined Bark from Bank of America this July. “By not holding our social team to reach sales requirements, we give them an environment to create entertaining content to reach our highly engaged audience.”
I get my barkbox the same time my mom gets hers. We live at the same house. She got hers but mine never came. I checked tracking and on their website says no tracking available. I do have an e-mail from scout with a Fedex tracking number. It's been sitting in Troutdale Oregon for 4 days now. Has not even departed. they keep updating the box but to only say its still in Troutdale Oregon still. I am located in Washington. This is ridiculous. My mom got her barkbox for her dog but my poor dog still hasn't gotten his.
Super fast shipping! I got my box two days after my first subscription. I use BarkBox SuperChewer because my puppy will destroy all plush toys. She’s been loving it so far, it’s super durable. She also loved all of the treats they’ve delivered. I love how everything is natural and high quality, it gives me a piece of mind. My pup didn’t like some of the toys and customer service told me they can replace it. So far so good!

Running a business that depends on timely deliveries doesn’t come without its challenges, and BarkBox has to maintain a delicate and complex balance of product warehousing, logistics planning, and customer care. “With the word ‘box’ in our name, you can imagine that managing deliveries is central to our business,” says Rob Snowden, BarkBox’s Director of Fulfillment.

My C/S rep was nice and answered my question, but I was not happy with the answer. When we started, referred friends got a free box and we received a free box. That has changed and we were not notified. I referred a friend and they did not get a free box so they did not sign up. It made me look foolish. If I would have known I would have referred them, but not told them they would get a free first box.
So instead, BarkBox use this as a retention opportunity. Co-founder Matt Meeker started the service because his 150 lb. Great Dane kept destroying toys designed for smaller dogs. By designing boxes for different dog sizes, customers are more likely to get treats and toys that are tailored to their pet in the very first box. Therefore, they will continue to order.

Bonus — If you’re gifting a BarkBox subscription, you can surprise your recipient with a Double Deluxe BarkBox. That means, in their first BarkBox, they’ll get DOUBLE the number of toys, treats, and chews than a regular BarkBox – that’s FOUR toys, FOUR treats, and TWO chews! It’s a one-time $19 upgrade to make a wow-worthy Christmas gift of two boxes worth of dog goodies, followed by regular BarkBoxes for the rest of the subscription. Emmy dislikes: All the toys were stuffed, which means I knew they'd be dead meat within hours. BUT thats not Barkbox's fault, it's mine — I didn't realize that you can upgrade to a "heavy chewer" box with toys of varying durability for free, or step it up a notch and order a "super chewer" version of the Barkbox for an additional $8–$10 a month, depending on your subscription plan, with extra-durable toys that have been tested on freakin' WOLVES. Regardless, I don't mind giving Tico stuffed toys every so often, because he has a lot of seemingly satisfying fun entertaining himself by pulling them apart, and he's not the kind of dog who eats non-edible things (thank god).
Claire likes: I was pleasantly surprised at Dapper Dog's great customer service — when I said I had a young puppy, someone emailed me within a day confirming that I did indeed have a puppy, so they could make sure to include age-appropriate toys. I appreciated the thoughtfulness and that Dapper Dog followed through by adding a puppy teething bone to Ruggie's box, which she gnaws on with the passion of a thousand suns.

We received 3 months as a gift. However since our pup has food allergies I contacted Bark Box to change the food and snacks provided. Response time is horrible. I had to email several times… When they did reply they confirmed that they would put us on their list of dogs with special dietary restrictions. But the boxes never changed. — Gerry B., Influenster.com, 6/12/2015

In November, Bark released its first major TV spot; airing on more than 25 networks including Animal Planet, Freeform and Lifetime, the 30-second spot was largely inspired by the user generated content that appears on social media feeds. The shoot took about 12 hours, while the shoot for a recent two-minute comedic video about dog moms during the holidays took about four days. The new sketch touches on what BarkBox videos often encompass: the weird dogs we live with and the funny things they do.
To enhance the health of your dog, Barkbox’s treats are of the highest standards. As mentioned above, they are corn, wheat, and soy free. But, that isn’t all, the items you receive are among the most organic items you will have in your home. The treats are all sourced from South America, New Zealand, Australia, USA, and Canada. What Barkbox promises you is that you won’t get dog products that the guys at Barkbox wouldn’t give their dogs.

They’re ever ready and happy to answer your questions and offer you professional tips. Absolutely love barkbox! I just signed up for my chocolate lab and I am very impressed! Great quality toys and adorable treats which my dog LOVES. He just got his first box today and he’s been carrying around his little stuffed bird all afternoon, he is obsessed! I was also very impressed with how fast it was delivered! I ordered it Sunday night and received it Wednesday, and it said it wasn’t going to come until July 2nd! So I was very happy about that and so was my sweet boy. I will definitely recommend barkbox to anyone who has playful pups! I will also continue to be a regular customer! :)
Within 24 hours of making my review, I was contacted by someone else with the company who had reviewed my chat and felt that I was not treated fairly or listened too and that my concerns were valid enough to where they wanted to make it right. They have since sent me 6 more bark boxes (free of charge) AND donated to a pet rescue of my choice in honor of my own pups who are rescues.

“Pollie loves to run around our farm showing off her new barkbox treats to her sheep friends. We always get her an extra toy as she is a heavy chewer and toys are ripped in minutes. Thankfully, Barkbox sometimes offers toys with no filling and most of them are squeaky toys which Pollie adores. They even offer to exchange a product if Pollie doesn’t like it.”

They have 3 options. Regular, heavy chewer, which they upgrade you for free, but I recommend super chewer box. You pay an extra $9 or so per box, but they come backed with a 14 day guarantee. My two large GSDs have not chewed through a single toy from the first box we tried, in December. Worth looking into! They were also very responsive to me on the online chat, during their business hours. One chew they went through in minutes, not a toy, but a chew, and because I pay extra I was frustrated. I got an immediate reply from their online chat option, and they offered to send TWO replacement chews. Such great options! I also recommend you trying bullymake, and my favorite is DapperDog, which I was disappointed that it wasn’t even mentioned in this article. Worth looking into!
If your arm tires out during games of fetch before your dog does, the Chuckit! Classic Ball Launcher is just what you need. The Chuckit! Classic Ball Launcher is a lightweight ball launcher designed to accommodate both regular tennis balls and Chuckit! compatible balls, enabling you to launch them at distances much further than you could throw on your own. In fact, this manual ball launcher allows you to throw balls further than even an automatic ball launcher can manage.
Total price of items, if bought individually: ~$51.89 for Ruggie's box ("iBalls" dog toys, elk antler chew, salmon and ginger treats, chicken-flavor training teats, stuffless crinkle bone toy) and ~$76 for Tico's box (turkey and duck burger treats, salmon and ginger treats, chicken jerky treats, rocket dispenser toy, nubby toss toy, stuffless crinkle bone toy). All prices sourced from Amazon and Pupjoy's website.
Hey Connie and Meme! We are so terribly sorry about this and that is not the experience that we want you to have at all. We are more than happy to clear this up for you and make sure you only get one box a month going forward. Then since you were getting two boxes for this month please feel free to donate the second extra box on us to a local shelter in your area!

Within the next few years, 3.6 billion people will use messaging apps—that’s about about half of humanity. It’s hardly a surprise that brands are scrambling to gain a toehold on these popular channels. Both Facebook and Twitter have seen the demand and they’ve recently created tools to help businesses interact with their customers more effectively over their respective apps.
