I wanted to do something special for my chihuahua pug mix and I decided to sign up for Barkbox. I chose to go with the yearly subscription as it was the cheapest of the group per monthly payments. They offer boxes for different size groups, Small, Medium and Large as well as other types of boxes to fit what your pup needs - regular, super chewers, etc. I started off with just the regular box and when it came in the mail, she wasn't sure what it was yet but was excited. She received two toys, two treat bags and something else - which she all loved. My dog is a chewer so of course she had tore apart one of the toys and I simply contacted someone at Barkbox and asked if they could switch me to an option more suitable for her chew destroying needs and they were more than happy too.
Bone (pit bull, 40 pounds, 6 years) loves to retrieve and chew tennis balls, but tears into them within minutes. I first signed up for back box 4 months ago when they were running a special. I signed up for the 6-month bark box and did not read the VERY small, fine print that they had on the sign up which I was under the impression I would get a bark box every 6 months, and pay for them every six months when they ship it. Unfortunately, the small print stated that it was 1 box every month for 6 months and that the price would increase after the first month.
I am so far only subscribed for a month but I am so glad I did. What made me subscribe, believe it or not was the customer service, they were great. I had a ton of questions when I was browsing their website and not because I was being difficult but because I got burned by my last subscription with Pupbox. Upon receiving the first box, my decision to bite into a 6-month plan was very easily justified. Everything in the box was good quality as promised. It was a fun surprise opening the box. There were a couple of things in the box that we didn’t quite like because it had poultry, but all I had to do was email them and they sent a replacement immediately. They also explained that the welcome box is like a sample box and is in my experience whatever we didn’t want or work will be replaced, no questions asked.
While the Nashville BarkPark is initially only a pop-up venture for now, BarkBox has ambitions to open more locations nationwide in the future. BarkPark also serves as an experimental retail channel for Bark. It follows the brand’s launch in more than 1,800 Target stores nationwide last August, followed up by Urban Outfitters earlier this month. Bark plans to announce more retail partners soon.

The study suggests that the craziest dog people might go into withdrawal when they are away from their dog and lean on technology for quick fixes. Many dog people admit they have watched their dog on a webcam (17%) or Skyped or FaceTimed with them while they were away (14%). “This is especially true of Millennials, who are more likely than non-Millennials (24% vs. 13%) to watch their dog on a webcam. In fact, Millennials are nearly three times as likely as their older counterparts (23% vs. 8%) to Skype or FaceTime their dog.”
