My C/S rep was nice and answered my question, but I was not happy with the answer. When we started, referred friends got a free box and we received a free box. That has changed and we were not notified. I referred a friend and they did not get a free box so they did not sign up. It made me look foolish. If I would have known I would have referred them, but not told them they would get a free first box.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my bark box subscription. I have huge dogs, aggressive chewers. Each month they send a toy, a stuffed toy. Which lasts all of 15 minutes with my dogs… I contacted Bark box month after month requesting non stuffed toys. I've always wanted to try a subscription for my pups but I'm a bit ashamed that this was my first experience. BarkBox was good but had major hits and misses. I have giant, playful, strong dogs and though this was indicated, I don't feel as though any size consideration is evaluated when selecting toys for the boxes. I do like that they always came with two toys because it meant each dog had 15 minutes of play time before I had to wrestle their jaws open to dig out the stuffing and bits of squeakers they were about to ingest. The treats have been great! They especially loved the apple cider treats that started to ferment when left in a cookie jar and made all their other treats reek of beer. As a consumer that willingly signed up for the box and entered my debit card information freely, I should have read more in-depth. I did not know that when you terminate your subscription that you will continue to be charged until you reach the year mark of signing up. For me it meant 9 more months of money that was to be taken out of my account had I not caught it. I like true month to month boxes where a cancellation is immediate and I wish they had made their rather off-kilter ways of charging and processing more visible. I can think of some major changes that they could make but ultimately some of the blame rests on me for not reading better. I know my pups will be sad as they've grown accustomed to their box but I can buy more durable and healthy big dog treats for just a little more money and I know it would be more worth it.
Last month it took way longer than normal to get our barbox. I didn’t complain about it or anything. It happens. I got an email from barkbox today that said because my last shipment took so long to get to me, they upgraded me to 2 day shipping for the remainder of my membership. I have been completely satisfied with every box we have gotten and am just so impressed with the customer service. Thank you!
Worth every single penny. I literally can not say enough amazing things about BarkBox. First of all, and most importantly, my 3 dogs LOVE IT! Secondly, all of the toys are FUN, creative, and durable. You can buy seconds of ones your pup loves and seconds on treats as well. Thirdly! They have this really cool program where if your pup destroys something, you can post the aftermath on any social media, tag #destroyersclub and barkbox will give you credit on barkshop for some new toys!

Claire dislikes: So Ruggie loves the Hippo, Trek Treats and the Banana Safari Snacks but tbh, I didn't even give her the lion toy because even though she would love it, toys with that kind of long hairy stuff make her gag. And maybe I'm being paranoid (new dog mom over here!), but that butcher's bone seemed kinda gross. I mean, it had a "no carpet" warning on it because it would leave stains, and if I can't have something on a carpet, why would I want the bone gunk all over her fur, which then would get all over her bed? Idk, maybe I'll give it to her as a puppy kindergarten graduation present and have her eat it in the kitchen.
I'm brand new to Bark Box and I ordered my very 1st BB for my dog on August 1st. Here it is now August 9th and no box. When I chatted with a rep I was told that the boxes are delayed due to a change in location and I would be receiving an email w/a tracking # "soon". Still no email, no tracking #. Such a disappointment from what seems to be a solid company that cares about our dogs. I will be canceling my subscription after I receive this box. If I don't receive it by next week I'll be requesting a full refund. I'm only giving 1 star because they do donate to pet shelters.

She doesn’t play fetch unless other dogs are around. However, she does take to treats meant for chewing. After trying bully sticks (hurt her gums), antlers (made a terrible sound against her teeth), and others, I came across the Himalayan Dog Chew: a softer chew made from yak and cow milk. It’s still tough enough that it lasts her a few days of on and off chewing but soft enough that I’m not worried it’ll hurt her mouth. Once the chew reaches the last nubbin—which you don’t want your dog to swallow whole—you can briefly pop it into the microwave to soften it into a cheesy treat.

I had a terrible experience with barkbox. My dog is not a strong chewer at all (he's a shih tzu) but somehow every time we got a box the toys were super cheap and would fall apart immediately. I was actually thinking of quitting the subscription but I liked the surprises each month so I thought I'd stick it out a few months. He had never destroyed any toys until we started getting barkbox toys, so after a couple deliveries - I knew they were cheaper than average. They'd basically fall apart in 2 min of him playing with them which sucked.On our last barkbox, one toy actually fell apart immediately when he was chewing on the new toy for the first time (literally within a minute of me giving it to him) he accidentally swallowed the squeaker and ended up having a $5000+ surgery as a result to get it out. He had to be completely cut open. Between the emotional pain of my dog having surgery, being in the ICU, having a pain med patch stapled to his back and weeks of recovery, I never trusted this company again. I wish I had never tried them.Suffice to say, not a fan and I tell anyone considering trying them this story. I'd rather pick my own treats and toys and be able to know what i'm getting quality wise. Be careful if you subscribe, big breeds might be ok but I'm sure small breeds regularly have this happen to them with this company.

Our own testing revealed that even the smaller size of this toy was surprisingly durable and it was great for games of fetch. Our test dog couldn't get enough of the KONG Extreme Dog Toy's bouncing action, and the toy remained intact against her sharp puppy teeth.
