Barkbox has allergy options and you can customize all toys or all treats or any combination you just need to call or chat with them. Also, if a dog doesn’t like a toy or treat they will send you a replacement. If you get the super chewer option (more expensive) you get more durable toys made from kong like material and the guarantee if your dog destroys it they will send a new one at no charge! Their customer service is amazing and I must say I am a very happy customer!

We do have wonderful durability options such as our super chewer box and our more durable classic boxes. Then we are so sorry for the trouble with trying to cancel your account. Right now when you sign up for a multi month commitment and cancel that stops the renewal. So you will still get the commitment that you signed up for and none following that. We do try to make that apparent at sign up but it can be easy to miss. Then I went in for you on my end and closed your current account. If anything changes we would love to have you and Rascals back in the pack with more durablility or a treat only box!

Claire likes: While I don't want to know exactly what's in my box because it kinda takes some of the surprise and fun away, personally, PupJoy's customization options are a godsend for people who have allergy-prone dogs or already have a trunkful of toys. I thought the red bone thing was really cool — it had a soothing feel to it and a crunchy texture on the inside. Also WOW, this box is a good deal.

Funny, I just canceled Barkbox. I repeatedly asked them to upgrade me to the heavy chewers box. The toys sent were WAY undersized for my dog and were destroyed in minutes, a few I would have actually considered choke hazards for my 90 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback (the stuffed raindrops in the ‘cloud’ toy a couple months ago). I’m trying Dapper Dog since they have an EASY to find option for Extra Large dogs and it’s easy to specify a heavy chewer right from the get go.
The page is designed to get you signed up for six months, paying now. The “most popular” banner and the clear signal of how much it costs (“$138 billed today”) draw the eye to that option. This is a great example of pricing page design. With just two simple elements, BarkBox can get customers signed up for at least six months and get that cash in advance.
I have been a BarkBox subscriber for 4 years and have previously found them to be mildly inefficient but the billing is accurate, the toys are cute and the packaging is tidy. However, I recently placed a gift order to BarkBox and things have gone badly. I got a delivery eta of a week out. Package not received 2 weeks later, multiple (5) follow-up emails entirely ignored by BarkBox. Response that finally came cited “mass email” to all subscribers (never received, although I continue to receive lots of sales emails from BarkBox) and “ongoing warehouse inventory”, and hopes that the box will ship in the next week or so. There is no mechanism for expediting support requests, and the front line folks appear to working from scripts intended to appease and retain customers, regardless of whether or not the problem can be addressed.
Unfortunately I had to cancel my bark box subscription. I have huge dogs, aggressive chewers. Each month they send a toy, a stuffed toy. Which lasts all of 15 minutes with my dogs… I contacted Bark box month after month requesting non stuffed toys. On the 20th, I filled out a support ticket to find out what was going on and was told there are delays this month due to a change in location of their warehouse. Now, wouldn't you think the company would send out a communication to its client base at the beginning of the month letting them know there may be delays this month due to a new location for their warehouse?

Within 24 hours of making my review, I was contacted by someone else with the company who had reviewed my chat and felt that I was not treated fairly or listened too and that my concerns were valid enough to where they wanted to make it right. They have since sent me 6 more bark boxes (free of charge) AND donated to a pet rescue of my choice in honor of my own pups who are rescues.

Claire dislikes: Tbh, I was mildly exasperated by this box. They sent three of the same kind of toy, which was so disappointing because for the same gagging/choking hazard reasons I couldn't give Ruggie the lion toy from the BarkBox, I couldn't give these "iBalls" to her either. The antler I received was so, so small, and while I know Ruggie's a tiny beeb, she still goes to town on her chew toys and was worried she'd swallow it accidentally or something.
My Mastiff, Thor, and his pitbull sister, Brinley, anxiously await their monthly BarkBox as soon as I tell them it's been shipped. The treats are nutritious, I use some of them in my puppy training classes. Thor commandeers the toys but gradually lets his sister play with them. Most of them hold up very well, lasting for several months. For a heavy chewer like mine, this is a testament to their quality.
I read about this strange mammal-cephalopod hybrid toy during Fugly Week and immediately bought it to see if Reggie would also take to it like crazy. He did. The combination of plush animal head, ball-shaped body (with wake-the-dead squeaker inside) and dangly, flappy limbs is dog magic, and when he’s not flinging his foxtopus (and buntopus) about he’s using it as a pillow.

Like several corporate replies to others' reviews, I also have been informed by corporate that a "hiccup in the warehouse" is delaying August orders. Zero information was provided by the company up front to explain this problem. I attempted a chat with customer service last week only to discover that there is no chat. I had to leave a message, which wasn't returned. Then I emailed customer service about an ETA. That prompted a corporate reply with the as-now-standard "hiccup in the warehouse" explanation. I was told our August box is "still on the way." That doesn't answer my ETA question.
I have just cancelled my Treat a Dog box and was excited to see reviews of the various other options. I have a pit bull and he has easily destroyed every toy in the boxes so far. I also love that there is now a Canadian option because some of the other boxes were only in the US. My favorite part of the surprise is how excited Diesel is when we get the mail. Thats mine mom!
